The Good Life in Laboe: Waiting in Style!

Three weeks in Laboe... Well, it's not how we imagined our dream trip, but we refuse to give up!

There's nothing else to do but make the best of it, and we're doing so with gusto. Life here in the marina has its unexpected charms, especially if you have the time to wait for a technical solution for your engine.

Erna's Galley is running at full speed
One thing's for sure: we won't go hungry! Erna's galley is running at full speed, and that means the most delicious meals and pastries.
It's also a great opportunity to explore the local market and enjoy fresh produce. Who would have thought that a motor breakdown would lead to culinary delights?

Aperitifs Thanks to Sponsors
And what do you do while you wait? Exactly, enjoying the good life! Thanks to our generous sponsors, we're in for a lot of drinks and coffees, and we're more than happy to take advantage of them.
Glasses are regularly raised to Zina's speedy recovery, and of course to life itself.
Netflix and Chill on Zina
When the weather's bad, we retreat back on board. Then it's time for a long morning in bed, watching hours of TV shows and movies. Our Starlink connection is a real lifesaver! No stuttering, no loading times – just uninterrupted binge-watching. Wonderful, an unexpected movie marathon like this.
Or we keep ourselves busy with small jobs on board, there is always something to repair on a boat, making 'endless' crochet for Erna or birdwatching for Rosie.
Walking to Slomo Beach
Of course, we also try to stay active as much as possible. That means lots of walking. Along the coast, in the park, or a visit to the U-boat, for example.
But to be fair, in Laboe all roads seem to end at Slomo Beach.

And that just so happens to be our regular spot for those delicious aperitifs... Coincidence? We don't think so! It's the perfect place to end the day, watch the ships sail by, and dream of the day Zina sets sail again.

It's a wait, yes, but we're making the best of it. Stay tuned for future updates, and who knows, we might even celebrate our return to sea soon!
