The Curtain Has Fallen (and the Polestar is on its way)

Well, dear followers, the curtain has fallen. After all the waiting and all the planning, the harsh reality has arrived: the engine repair isn't finished yet.
This, in combination with the increasingly worsening weather forecasts for the North Sea, with autumn storms approaching, has forced us to decide that it is no longer responsible to return safely by boat.

Although we were stranded two months ago, we're very satisfied with the technical service here at Schiffswerft Laboe . They're professional and helpful, and it's certainly not their fault, but certain parts are still missing .
We even commissioned them to carry out an additional project for Zina: a new anchor winch and a redesigned bow. So, Zina will be getting ready for next year during the winter months!
So, Zina is going to winter in… Laboe ! (Who would have thought?) Laboe has become our second home, or rather, our involuntary campsite. Zina is safe, but the captain and crew are returning to the mainland.
Next Saturday, I'm taking the train to pick up our Polestar . And then, instead of traveling by water, I'll drive back by road to pick up the ladies. It might not be the return trip we dreamed of, but it's a beautiful journey in itself!
But don't worry! We've already made, planned, and arranged new things. That's how it goes with us. Next year's sailing plans are already underway, and Zina can't wait to finally dance across the Baltic Sea waves. You'll all hear about it!

See you soon and thanks for 'living along' with us these past few months!
PS, there will definitely be new stories during the winter break, but less frequently I think.
